The console remained silent regardless of what I played across newer PS5 games like Demon’s Souls, Atelier Ryza 2, and the Guilty Gear Strive open beta and also through PS4 games like Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and God of War that were anything but silent on the PS4 Pro. Having played multiple PS5 and PS4 games over the last few weeks, the only time I’ve heard the console make any sound is when the disc drive is spinning.
The upside to its massive size is in how silent it remains while playing games for the most part. Using the console with the stand kept horizontal doesn’t feel as steady as it should and it is not practical for most desks or entertainment centres considering the sheer volume it takes. Having used both an Xbox Series X and now the PS5, there’s no denying that the appearance of the console is striking to say the least but I think it looks good when kept standing.
